The 3 Stucco Systems
Gold Coast Stucco and Design uses the Imasco Traditional Stucco System. This is based on a simple design concept combining an improved Portland cement base (GreatWall) and one of several attractive finishes, colours, and textures for virtually any application. At the core of the Traditional Stucco System is GreatWallBasecoat. The result of exhaustive research and development, GreatWall combines reinforcing fibres and specialized admixtures in a factory blended and controlled premixed product. This helps to minimise or eliminate cracking in the basecoat.
Traditional Stucco has the following features:
- Durable and Economical
- 10 Year Extended Warranty
- Protective to Elements
- Water Resistant
- Colour Fast
- Design Imagination/ Flexibility
The Rainscreen System
The rain Screen System is a complete approach to exterior wall performance engineered specifically for most forms of residential and commercial construction.
At the heart of the system is is a drainage cavity that allows moisture to drain out of the exterior wall. This cavity is fully vented top and bottom to allow maximum drying potential for any incidental residual moisture.
Rainscreen Stucco has the following features:
- EPS cavity foam is adhered over air/moisture barrier which eliminated any additional penetrations into the wall system.
- Deflects, drains and dries water
- Comprehensive 10 year RainWater Damage Protection Warranty
- Provides structural integrity and crack resistance
- EPS foam is mechanically fastened to the studs to absorb and dissipate movements
- Installed only by certified applicators
- Provides for architectural flexibility
Things You Should Know About Stucco
Conventional stucco is a time-tested product that has been around for centuries. It consists of Portland cement, masonry cement, type S lime, water, and fibreglass. It is impact resistant, fire resistant, and impervious to termites and rot. Conventional stucco gets harder and more durable over time. While stucco is generally considered maintenance free, it does need to be sealed in many climates. Freezing temperatures can make it necessary to seal stucco to prevent water absorption that might freeze and expand causing cracks, scaling, and leaks.
It is important to use good quality exterior grade paint, like breathable paint, which will expand and contract with the masonry material. Stucco offers an almost maintenance-free exterior with unlimited design options.
Stucco has been known for its durability for many decades in North America. It is tough, long lasting, and provides a unique, highly desirable appearance.
Gold Coast Stucco & Design Limited utilizes all types of plastering and stucco, exterior finishing technology, including the RainScreen system. Click any of the links below for more information about these highly versatile systems.
